We wanted to get rid of the remains of the pirate Shadz "Rodshaw" Bilgar so we went to the city administration first. I wished that we wouldn't run into that evil elf Ironbriar. The wanted note had said that he would provide the reward, but I hoped not personally. As we entered, the ones working there looked at us strangely. I kept to the back, trying to look inconspicuous. Nathaniel requested the reward and presented the evidence of his demise. While the man worked Nathaniel asked him why he had given us such a strange look when we arrived. He answered that Ironbriar had asked the city guards to look for us in regard to the murders. We asked what murders and he explained that there had been several murders in both Sandpoint and Magnimar and we had been  at both places. We told him that we solved the murders in Sandpoint and just arrived in Magnimar and therefor couldn't have been behind the murders. We also added that the sheriff of Sandpoint could confirm our story. We got the reward and now knew that the city guards might be looking for us.

Honeypot, looking like a farmgirl went up to the door and knocked on the door. We had planned to see if the house was empty. A maid opened the door and Honeypot asked the way to a house belonging to a family she just made up. The maid didn't know of course, so she thanked her and left. We others waited in the street.

I was very surprised and after a short while Aldern appeared. He invited us in to sort it all out and offered dinner. There wasn't just Aldern but also Iesha greeted us. I asked Aldern what ever became of his sisters and if he had the address to Zeeva in the Great Kingdoms. He said that we would get answers to our questions after dinner. I got even more suspicious and watched him closely. He seamed to be a little stiff and emotionless. When a valet appeared and Aldern suggested that I and Dorothea should help out in the kitchen, I was so surprised at the idea of me cooking that I agreed. Dorothea had no objections. As we were suspicious we weren't surprised when they started turning into strange tree-like creatures. I drew my new dagger and attacked the creature previously looking like Iesha and tricking it to stagger into a line with the others with my dexterous stab. I screamed "Monsters!" as load as I could to the others. Dorothea unleashed a howl of doom that was a devastating shout that pulped their flesh. The creature I stabbed finished it's transformation and tricked me with it's unnatural moves, using my confusion to stab me. It really hurt and the creature previously being the maid tried to do the same but this time I was prepared so it missed. I flanked one of the creatures and having to keep it's guard all around it left an opening. I used it well by killing it with a well placed stab and backed into a corner to avoid the same fate. Dorothea used her strange magic to teleport with a bang and the former valet creature was killed. That was when the others finally managed to help us out. Honeypot tumbled into the room and distracted the last monster. I used that to stab it, killing it.

The strange creatures were a little wood like and smelled of swamp. None of us had ever seen anything looking like it or read any descriptions looking like it. We thought about how much noise we had made and wondered if the city guard would show up. I told the others that they patrolled the area very frequently and would probably show up if they suspected anything. Velicia grabbed one of the creatures and teleported out into the back alley. Honeypot changed her appearance again to look like a maid. I climbed a tree in the back yard and hid. Dorothea, Nathaniel and Velicia checked through the upper floors of the house.

After a little while seven city guards came, but they looked a little strange. I noted Dorothea inside a window on the second floor not far from where I was in the tree. I alerted her by throwing a twig on the window. When she saw me I signed to her that there were seven guards coming. We prepared a trap, with Dorothea, Honeypot, Nathaniel and Velicia laying in wait for them to enter the house but they didn't. After splitting up, three of them entered just into the backyard and then said with a raised voice that anybody inside the house should come out. Honeypot still looking like a maid, told them there were no trouble and that they could safely move on. They didn't believe her even though she was pretty convincing. She then tried to get them to come in to discuss it, but they didn't fall for that either. Meanwhile the other four split up into two groups of two. One group sneaked around the neighbor probably to the front while the other two entered the other neighbors backyard and sneaked into the Foxglove house's backyard out of sight from the house, just below me. They then continued to climb the wall and lay in wait on top of a low roof over the back entrance. As they prepared to attack and started to change shape I threw my dagger from my hiding place up in the tree. The dagger hit the base of the neck of the creature, killing it instantly. As it fell from the roof, I jumped down and hiding the sound of my landing with the thump the creature did. I hid in a corner of the house, almost in the same path that the guards themselves had entered. Honeypot cast a spell making a cloud of glittering dust on the three guards at the entrance to the backyard. They charged into the entrance even one of them rather stumbled after the others, blinded by the glitter dust. There were fighting inside and the other guard on the roof crashed through a window to attack. I cursed as they were destroying what was probably my house! I rounded the corned throwing my dagger into the blinded creature still outside killing it. Then I swung up on the low roof. The last one fled closely followed by Velicia out into the street. She then scorched half the alley alerting everyone that wasn't already aware of the fight. The creature survived so I unwound my sling and threw a stone that hit, but it still ran on. Nathaniel also ran out into the street. Then Honeypot ran out after them all and called the creature back. It went right up to her getting almost surrounded by the others. They easily killed it.

for us.

Returning back as I climbed down the others speculated about what kind of creatures they were and Velicia asked if these were real guards or if it was something strange going on. I told her that I've heard stories of strange creatures that could change their appearance to look like someone else, but I thought it was just a scary fairy tale and that as far as I knew the guards were usually ordinary humans.

I returned into the house and took out the brass key. Studying it I ran up to top floor and started looking for a safe or something similar there. I soon noticed lions on the fireplace and there was an lion motif on the key. I searched it closely and found a small keyhole. I use the key and it opened up. There were money and papers. I took it all and we all started leaving. On the way out we brought two of my fathers items. One was a pair of magical boots that I will use and the other his sword that Nathaniel will use. If he ever plan to replace it I will want it back as it is my family heirloom. We returned to inn.

Back at the inn we gathered in one room and checked the loot. There were 200 platinum pieces. The papers was about ownership of the townhouse and the manor. It was complicated to understand the ownership of the manor. It was built by Vorel, but largely financed by the brothers of the seven. There were no explanation of who they were. They will get it back after 100 years, not only the manor but also huge tracts of land and anything below the manor. They knew that it was an evil place and still want it. There were also notes of "Iesha's trip to absalon" and payments of 200 gp to B7 every week for months. It was delivered to the Seven's Sawmill at midnight.

The next morning I was in a better mood, but I was worse physically. Luckily doctor Habe was very skilled and after him spending some time taking care of me I felt better in the afternoon. Velicia and Dorothea also got better and Nathaniel arranged for a wagon to be borrowed tomorrow.

The next day we returned to the Foxglove manor and got the rest of all the things we wanted to keep or sell.

As soon as we were back in Sandpoint I questioned everyone I could think of about the Foxglove family, but not many knew much about them. Us. At least I found out that the Foxglove manor is 80 years old while Sandpointe is just 40 years old. The debacle of the burnt down servants quarters and deaths of my parents happened 20 years ago.

A couple of days later we had made all necessary preparations. I had asked Velicia to make a few magical items, which she did. On the morning I had a big packed lunch prepared and we set of on our journey to Magnimar, city of monuments. The weather was better than when we went to the Foxglove manor and Creampuff carried me with ease, but all in all the trip was long and uneventful.

Reaching the city Honeypot used her new hat of disguise too look like an ordinary peasant girl. I tried to look as inconspicuous as I could. After we passed through the gate into the city Honeypot said that the city guards at the gate looked strangely at us. Not at all in any way she had expected.

Magnimar is full of old monuments.

The others fell for the false face Magnimar presents to visitors. They were impressed by the old statues and richly decorated facades of the houses. The poor people and the homeless are hidden at first glance. As the others said "Ohh, Ahh..." I just muttered. I wasn't pleased to be back in the city that had given me so many bad memories.

As we didn't know where the Foxglove townhouse was and Magnimar is a big city and nothing like the small village that Sandpoint is, the others agreed that we should get rooms at an inn. I wanted it to put on a disguise. Dorothea said
"If you cling on Nathaniel no one will notice you."
"It's not to blend in. It's to avoid being recognized."

When we left Velicia took out the awful mask that Aldern had had. She put it on changing her appearance to that of a poor woman. I sneaked ahead to change our number if they knew how many we were.
