Finally the winter let go of it's grip and the warmth of the spring arrived. The time had come to set up our expedition to finally stop Karzoug's plans to return as an evil ruler of the world. We had to travel east into the high wild and unknown mountains. We all gathered in Turtleback Ferry and made sure we had everything ready. Kaven closed The Golden Giant and brought most of the inventory of food and spices. I left Creampuff in the care of Old Jobe. I really though we should bring a mule. Old Jobe had told stories so many times of how his mules had saved him over and over again, that I doubted that we would make it without one, but no one of the others thought so, so I gave up the idea. When getting the last things from the general store to be ready for climbing cliff sides, we were told of an old expedition that left Turtleback Ferry twenty-five years before us, that according to the tales had been to Xin-Shalast and borrowed money from several people in town to finance a return there and mining the gold rich mountains. They had never returned. I asked Maelin to make a list of who had lost how much of the ones still in town.

Early morning we set out. We were walking up to Bitter Hollow, where we had a light lunch. It was kind of strange, traveling on foot, but as we left Bitter Hollow we also left all trails behind and rounded Lake Coal to follow the river beyond. We didn't know for sure if it was the right river but it was our best guess. The hilly landscape soon turned into mountains a it got harder and harder to cross.

I met Honeypot at the last performance of a play at the Sandpoint Theater. Afterwards we went to Cracktooth’s Tavern and met Cyrdak Drokkus. We started talking. I asked innocently if he had a new play. As he said no, I suggested him to read my play. Honeypot said that if he would choose to go with it she would play the role of herself and as she has quite a fame as both an actress and for playing and dancing she would draw a crowd. He agreed to reading it and we enjoyed the rest of the evening. We noted that Cyrdak spent most of the evening around Jasper, while Ameiko avoided him. There was some unknown old grudge.

Nathaniel said that the ground had arsenic from mining. I noted that arsenic is a poison that can be hidden in food.

Already before midday the day after Cyrdak came looking for me. He found me eating breakfast at the Rusty Dragon. He told me he liked it and would set it up on his theater. We started talking when Honeypot showed up. She soon took over talking to Cyrdak about the play. We started hiring actors and in the next few days. Honeypot and I wondered why Cyrdak wasn't liked in Magnimar. Honeypot asked around and found out that he had been a dancer and was thrown out there after a performance. We started rehearsals and preparations for the play. Cyrdak had some suggestions for changes to the play and thought I should go home and write. Honeypot thought she'd better join me. Together we headed for Magnimar on the way to Turtleback Ferry. Honeypot changed into a snow leopard and I rode Creampuff. She was in a hurry to get there and Creampuff had a hard time keeping up. He was a little heavy, it being early winter and all, but he's supposed to gain some weight for the winter. Perhaps it was a little too much. Along the way I got thinking about how Cyrdak had been thrown out of Magnimar. Perhaps we could get him to be welcome back? We decided to try, and then it would be good to have help so we told Nathaniel and Velicia in Runeforge, using the dwarven stones, that we could use their help in Magnimar. We got there and went through the gates without any waiting. We headed for the Foxglove Townhouse.
+
Went closer Honey said that old dead tree was not tree but dead ent.

Even though it is quite large it is still a little cozy. We spent the night and the next day I dressed up as Sandeli Foxglove before heading to the theater park. It was called Triodea and was made up of three buildings; the Grand Stage, The Stone Wall and the Aerie. When we got there Honeypot took the lead and went straight in. We got to see the director, Dustin Versad. He was responsible for all three parts. Honeypot started talking about everything singing, dancing and acting and when she kept him occupied I sneaked into his office. I looked through a lot of the papers there but there was more than I cared for. From what I could see I guessed that Dustin Versad was new as director, and that he had put in a lot of money. While searching there I heard Honeypot's playing stopped so I sneaked back out and came just in time to see her reciting from my play. I was amazed of how it came alive when she played it. Versad said that it would be a shame if he wouldn't get to set it up at the Great Stage. I agreed and said that I would like for the play to be played here but with the same players as was working in Sandpoint. He agreed and seemed happy.

I didn't care until Nathaniel said that the heap behind it glittered. I looked closer and noted that it was just "slagg" but Nathaniel was on his way there to look closer when the tree moved.

We left him and Honeypot walked around the theaters gathering rumors. She heard of a famous eladrin dancer called Kassiel Iylmrain. He had a reputation of being a diva. He easily made enemies and was promiscuous. It was also said that he uppvaktade both men and women. We were content with the first day of work and I went home to change. Then we visited a few taverns and enjoyed ourselves before calling it for the night.
+
I attacked it hitting and damaging it although the others had trouble getting any good hits

Next day we went to see Versad to talk further about the play, but by then he didn't want the play in his theater. We was surprised of the dramatic change, but didn't push the matter. Instead Honeypot went looking for rumors of what could have happened. From Versad's mistress and prompter she heard that he had spent the night with friends. It turned out to be Kassiel Iylmrain. Dressed as my usual Nell I took to the streets to find him and succeeded. He was in a house of ill repute but good reputation. I watched it from across the street. Soon Honeypot got there too following other leads and we heard from Nathaniel and Velicia. They were in town and not that far away and soon we were all gathered.

Velicia taunted it with her magic and teleported out of its reach only to be chased around.

Velicia, who have read the play complains about accuracy. I correct her even more, but said the play is better if I write it this way.

Suddenly the heavy chain hanging in the shaft in the middle of the stairs came alive. It surprised us all, but I kept away from its flailing metal.

We take time

Leaping up the stairs and climbing up to the ceiling I stab hard at the wood where the chain is attached. When more want it Kassier tries to get away, but Velicia teleport ikapp him and teleport him onto stage.

Dancing start tentative as the two tried to size each other

Then Kassier madke beautiful moves only to be out danced by Honey

He tried to patch over with hard moves but failed embarrassingly

Honey is clearly winner

We returned to Sandpoint

Time for big premiere

Several tickets sold to unknown people

Turns out several important people from Magnimar there.

Just as I'm about to go on stage I turn to Cyrdak and say:

"I really hope it's going to be good. Otherwise we will look foolish when performing it in Magnimar."

He looked at me in disbelief and I nodded. He fainted but as there was a stagehand nearby to catch him I went on stage.

It was a strange feeling to stand on a stage to actually perform for the first time in my life.

I started the play: "Old forces of great strength, long forgotten, In fair Perrenland, where we lay our scene..."

I also finished:

"Thus far, with rough and all-unable pen,

Our bending author hath pursued the story,

In little room confining mighty men,

Mangling by starts the full course of their glory.

Small time, but in that small most greatly lived

These stars of Perrenland: Fortune made their swords;

By which many magic items were achieved.

They set out on paths encouraged by lords,

To far off places, riding their steeds,

Meeting both giants and dragons of old,

Performing many great heroic deeds.

Of which many good stories may be told:

Which oft our stage hath shown; and, for their sake,

In your fair minds let this acceptance take."

Silence

Applauds!

Continue to party

Turns out there were many celebrities at the premiere. Not only from Magnimar, but from far reaches.

There were famous adventurers and most impressively even two visitors from Greyhawk itself. They were from something called the circle of eight and was called Bigby and Tenser. Velicia was extremely impressed. I liked the old men. They were apparently some sort of high ups but still men of the people. They said that the liked the play.

Ameiko still pissed at Cyrdak

Velicia tired and asked her.

It turned out Cyrdak had been dating her evil brother Tsuto.

The barbarians looked and might not have completely understood everything but they said they liked it.

Before Xmas

Pamphlet "Of Dragons Defeated."

Printed - give copy to Velicia and Chask Haladan in the Curious Goblin.

Then it moved to Magnimar where I combined the reading of Chorus with starting to write on the second play.

It played for months

The dead tree or the chain golem.

Come to wooden building

Outside it seems as if poisoned ground. We stay back and protection rituals from Poison, Cold and Acid

Nathaniel said that the ground had arsenic from mining. I noted that arsenic is a poison that can be hidden in food.

Went closer Honey said that old dead tree was not tree but dead ent.

I didn't care until Nathaniel said that the heap behind it glittered. I looked closer and noted that it was just "slagg" but Nathaniel was on his way there to look closer when the tree moved.

I attacked it hitting and damaging it although the others had trouble getting any good hits

Velicia taunted it with her magic and teleported out of its reach only to be chased around.

The tree screamed in a horrible voice and it was answered by an even worse.

I continued to use its blind focus on Velicia to throw my dagger in vulnerable spots while she hid in the house

She saw a ghost of one of the dwarves

I tried to keep my distance but it was hard and its cold presence almost sucked the life out of us when it was close

The answering voice now howled on the wind. It grew louder and an awful storm surrounded us.

I could still keep track of the undead ent and threw my dagger into cracks

Honeypot cast a ritual countering the cold storm

The monster understood that Velicia had hid inside the building and it smashed a hole in the wall.

Finally Nathaniel hit the monster almost for the first time and his burning sword set it on fire and it fell to dust.

The tiering storm made it impossible to get any rest so I got inside to get some cover from the wind
