From the papers we conclude that the library is behind the brass doors. Velicia, who earlier already had spent a lot of time looking at the doors said they were protected by magic, but that she would pick the lock with her magic. She stood back about twenty five feet and started spelling, but instead of opening the door she made a monster appear that attacked her. It was a small flying creature made mostly of light. It blinded us and made it impossible to hide. The others killed it so I hurried to easily pick the lock that Velicia failed to open. A new creature appeared so I attacked it and moved into the library. The others understood the hint and followed me, but the monster didn't. Nathaniel closed the doors behind us and we looked at the huge room. It wasn't just the strange way things seemed down here that made the effect. It was a big room. There were nice comfortable leather clad armchairs, nice oak tables and loads of boring books. From far away and closing quickly was a very strange creature. It stopped near us and spoke in some strange language that all the others spoke. I hate strange languages. Everybody should speak common. They called it a clockwork librarian and apparently it's good at finding books in the library. I thought it might be unwise to trust it. It reminded me of the huge thing that came through the wall, but it didn't attack. The others order books but I use the strange effects to run faster that anything I've heard of. It felt as if I ran faster that Velicias shadow horses. The effect made me end up in other places than I intended, but it was fun for a while. But when I tired of that and while the others were reading books that the librarian had fetched for them, I sat down and took out a big dinner from my bag of holding. Kaven had made his great ham and I had a lot of nice things, even a little cold stew. Leaning back in the comfortable chair looking at the table I thought that I should get a set like that, but the table shouldn't be covered in grease as this one was. I realized that it was from my food and tried to wipe it with my arm. It didn't work that well. I got up instead. I started to wonder through the library but there were only books. I was climbing the walls. I had to do something.
Nathaniel also grew impatient and wanted to get out of the library. Velicia told us she had found out that there was a password that could open the doors to the library without setting off the trap. Nathaniel and I decided to look through the rest of the dungeon and tell the giants outside that Mokmurian was dead and they should all go home. Velicia wanted to come so we all went. We soon found Conna and told her that Mokmurian was dead and that the army should be disbanded. We also told her of the sihedron rune and that it would steal your soul. She promised to help us and she did. I took charge of the giants, being the leader of our little band, and we went to the smithy. There we easily defeated the magic using guards and freed the prisoners. We continued on, looking for the lamias and found them in the temple. They had two blue dragons fighting for them but Honeypot broke the lamias magical hold over them and they attacked their former masters, filled with wrath. The lamias died quickly. Velicia wanted to imitate the lamias and force an evil dragon to serve her. I thought that was really bad. Moreover, one should not fly.
We found remains from several dragons in the huge pit in the middle of the fort. The giants told us that Mokmurian had sacrificed greedy dragons that his red dragon had found. They hadn't seen it in a while though. Conna went to disband the army and Nathaniel and I followed her out to get Orik and Kaven. Honeypot and Velicia returned to the library. On the way out, I asked Conna, using Nathaniel for translation, where the red dragon's cave was. She told us it was high up on the mountainside and pointed out a way to get there. When we returned with Orik, Kaven and Shadowmane we asked them to wait at the base and Nathaniel and me went climbing. When we got up there I sneaked in a little ahead of Nathaniel but when he heard me gasp for air he came running in. There was a huge pile of coins, several precious stones and some work of art. There were some statues of silver and Nathaniel immediately wanted one of them. I wasn't that fond of them, but instead studied the gems. I poured all the coins into my pouch of platinum. There were lots of copper and silver coins but also gold and platinum. When all was converted to platinum it was easy to fit in my bag of holding. Nathaniel took the statues in his. Then we returned back to the library and the others. When we showed them what we had found they were impressed. Velicia and Honey both wanted a statue each and the Velicia thought that I should have the last one that was of some ugly fish. Apart from the statue being of silver and not gold it was of a fish. Who would want a statue of a fish? I said that I would take it I would put it in my pouch of platinum and make it into platinum coins, and then she stopped. Istead they told us they had found some strange information from Mokmurian's papers. He had been looking for the key to Runeforge. Apparently it was kept by someone called "the traitor Xalista". Velicia had a map where he would be at one of the X:s on it, all marking ancient structures. One of the X:s was on Sandpoint and several out in the sea.
We decided that Honeypot and Velicia should continue to study in the library while Nathaniel and I would ride back to Sandpoint with the freed prisoners and start looking through the old ruins below Sandpoint. As Nathaniel and I were talking to the people we had liberated, telling them of our heroic adventures, Velicia came to us and asked Nathaniel to fight a harpy for her. Apparently she had tried to talk to them but they had challenged her to a duel. Nathaniel fought the harpy and soon won. It told us about their master living in the oldest, black tower. It was an insane mummy teaching unarmed fighting styles. Velicia and Honeypot was very impressed wanted to talk to it, but was dissuaded by the harpies. I wonder what's happening to them. They want to serve evil mummies and ride evil shadow wyverns.
Nathaniel and I returned to trying to arrange for all the people to return home. The giants offered us to use their giant mammoth. It was big enough to take us all, but a giant had to follow us to bring it home, afterwards. I suggested that we didn't bring any giants into the small towns we passed along the way. It could easily be misjudged.
