We discussed how to get to Kaer Maga, a city far to the south. It would take almost a week to ride there but we decide to use some rituals called shadow step and phantom steed. Early the next morning those rituals created the spooky horses we had ridden before, but this time they were even quicker. We rode all day and already late afternoon, we arrived.

The city is built in a very old hexagonal tower that was built on the edge of a big cliff wall overlooking the landscape below. The tower is as gigantic in the same way as other thousands of years old stuff we've seen lately. The guards stoped us to get toll at the gate. I pointed out how poor we were as we couldn't even afford real horses. Velicia tried to intimidate the one talking but ended up intimated herself and pay what they asked. We entered a city that I recognized as a trading place where you could buy anything regardless of if it was legal or not. If I ever would want to hire assassins I would try here. As we entered lots of street kids ran up to us and offered to sell us all kinds of trinkets and services. After some discussion we finally hired a kid called Pike. He helped us find an inn for the night.

We went through a lot of places looking for leads to Tirana. Velicia found out about Council of Truth. That had been an association of insane magicians. They though that there was no evil, only knowledge. Thankfully they was extinct a long time ago. Honeypot and I found out that Tirana had been known to work together with a gang called The Split Street Gang. After looking around I figured they would bee about a hundred people strong. We heard they were living below Tarheel, which was where Council of Truth used to work. We returned to the inn to get some sleep.

The grumpy dwarf Gadka.

I woke late and Kaven had made sure I got a great breakfast. We all went out to look for the gang. We looked at a market and found the dwarf Gadka Burtannon. He had a wagon from which he was selling magical powders and stuff. I really didn't want to buy any of his magical stuff so I just asked him straight out if he knew where Split Street Gang were. We knew a sorceress called Tirana worked together with them and we wanted to get her. He didn't react very well to that. Stupid dwarf! Or perhaps stupid merchant! Or both. I noted a few gangers approaching and as Gadka didn't seem to want to help I went to nearby shadows and kept an eye on the gangers. They walked around but did look like they were outside of their usual turf, looking behind their backs and not the usual peacock strut. I found that interesting as that suggested they were scouting some one else's turf. We confronted them and said that they weren't welcome there and should run home. I followed them as they returned to another part of town. Velicia set up a fire. She was determined to barbecue a sheep. She had Kaven help her cooking. It was almost done when the gangers returned, this time prepared for a fight.

I hid on the roof of a stand that had a central wooden structure and linen tarpaulins extending on all sides. Most of the gangers approached in the middle of the road, scaring all other from the scene, but some of them sneaked around among the stands. I started the fight by throwing my dagger into one of the sneaking ones. A big fight broke out where one of their bigger fighters who fought with two scimitars fell into the fire toppling over the sheep. They were defeated and after promising to leave the city immediately we let them go. The annoying dwarf thanked us and gave us potions of vitality. He also told us about the place Tirana where we could find. He said it had big machines and rotating knives. He promised to lead us there. But first we fixed the cheep and finished it. There was some celebrations where the merchants thanked us for not having to pay off the gang.
