Taking our rest. Mummy rot!!!

V & I came into a round room and in the other end a corridor continued on with stairs leading up.
+
Velicia made magical items and lots of Potions. I missed Kavens cooking too much and couldn't decide on what I would ask her to do and ended up without.

Along the walls there were ten alcoves and in them were as many mummies.
+
H & I came into a corridor that ended with a door to the right. It had jewels all over but on closer inspection they seemed to be magical made there and wouldn't survive to be taken away from runeforge. I also noted that there was something strange with the door. There were slight scratches across and some slight marks on the other side of the corridor. I guessed that if you opened the door there would be some big block as bid as the whole door that would crush you against the other wall coming out from behind. I looked for alternatives and found a secret door in the end leading straight on. All the others had caught up so then we continued.

V sucked them out with magic only to threw them all up against a wall.
+
Beyond the corridor was filled with a strange magical mist. I thought it seemed very much like a magical trap. Our mages looked at it. They said that it might be some form of transformation mist. Honeypot performed a ritual to control winds and arranged for a full storm blowing the mist out of the corridor. Now we could see runes on the walls probably creating the mist. I took out my eternal chalk and while running along the corridor I drew a line over the runes. I don't think it stopped their workings but I liked doing it.

I ran along them, dodging their blows, making them attack themselves. I quickly turned and threw my dagger.
+
The corridor ended in a room with a statue in the middle. There was a pool below his feet. Some small devilish creatures were splashing around in the water. Velicia said they were something called mephits. The statue was a large metallic man dressed in robes. It held a polearm raised above its head in one hand. I guessed that the huge guy that lived there used iron statues to hang his clothes on, but Velicia said it was an iron golem that wasn't active.

V sword burst.

We continued on I followed the right wall and passed a corridor and continued the other way. It turned back the same way we had come from and led into another room with another statue and another pool. There were fish swimming in the water. This statue had the polearm along it side but held up its empty hand and from it poured water. Honeypot and Velicia guessed that if you got caught in the transformation mist you might have ended up as a fish in the pool.

Nathan came in and smashed 5 mummies that turned into clouds of mummy curse carrying dust.
+
Continuing on there were several doors along the corridor. They led too four identical rooms where raw materials were kept. Transformation magic rooms.

V sword burst and I threw my dagger and hid on the stairs.
+
The corridor continued on into yet another room with statue and pool. From this a door led on. I opened it silently. There was sounds coming from within. I sneaked ahead and saw yet another iron golem in clothes working in some kind of magical lab.

A mummy chased me down but I threw the dagger in another, and hid in an alcove.
+
Somehow the one responsible for the greed part used a golem somehow. I didn't understand it, but Velicia wanted to ask the mage about it. I stealthily moved into the room and hid behind one of the huge tables in there. Then Velicia followed and tried to talk to it, but it didn't work. I held my dagger ready to throw if it turned ugly and it sure did. I surprised it throwing it from....

I threw my dagger into a mummy, and hid deeper into another alcove and the magical shadows my gadget created around me.

BIG FIGHT

The mummy hunted me but could not find me.

Threw my dagger into a mummy and then came with a leap from the shadows tumbling past. I threw my dagger in a mummy and rolled into another new alcove.

The rest were beaten to death and all but I coughed.

When we had caught our breath we continued up the stairs, with me sneaking ahead.

It zig-zagged up into a circular room with seven doors. There were six statues standing in front of most of the doors. Most were holding different kinds of food, but one had candles and one held nothing but had its arms crossed over the chest and a wide grinning smile showing sharp pointy teeth.

As the others caught up I continued through the first door to the right.

It lead to a room that was some kind of entry hall with a painted door on the other side. I guess their pretend guests would come through that pretend door. There were a door leading to the left just before the room so I went through there.

Honeypot followed further behind as I went through a back room where they apparently had clothes to greet their pretend guests. I ended up in a new corridor that to the left looked like it would lead back into the circular room with the statues. As Nathaniel was still there I headed left and opened the door groaning with as dark a voice as I could. My giggles however lessened the effect. I told them to follow as we were about to head down the next corridor. Velicia who had followed said that the entry hall wasn't for pretend guests but for visitors from other planes. Anyway the next room had some kind of altar and behind it there was a secret door, but I spotted it. Sneaking in I saw a crystal sarcophagus with ghosts moving within, standing in the middle of a big magical pentagram. I was quite sure that it would be bad to enter the pentagram. As it obviously was magical I stepped back and let our mages work it out.

After some thinking Velicia said that it was some kind of source of power. Somehow it trapped souls inside the walls and fueled this part of runeforge with unholy necromantic power. She described some of its workings so I could disable some of its defenses and started bleeding off its power back where it came from, but some just leaked out. Honeypot said that she needed to counter it with a positive life affirming ritual. There were some plants sprouting from dirt but she wanted to celebrate fertility even more and asked Nathaniel to join her right there. He had his sword readied and wasn't in the mood for any shenanigans. Honeypot looked to Velicia but she was occupied with trying to banish any spirit energy leaking and were doing well. Honeypot was trying herself but when she looked to me I hesitantly retreated. I was definitely not in the mood for anything like that. Velicia did however with her religious training take care of the unholiness and Nathaniel finished by smashing the sarcophagus with his pickaxe. I looked around for anything valuable but didn't find any. I did however find another secret door. Inside was a room filled with books in a silly language I couldn't read. Apparently they were about necromantic magic.

Next I went to an even more chapel-like room. There were more secret doors.

Opening it I was met by an awful stench. Within were the decaying bodies of several humans in light blue robes. I entered trying hard to make my stomach agree with the stench. I looked closer at the clothes and suspected that the bodies were what was left of the inhabitants of envy.

Continuing on there were crypts and workshops and other rooms designed to handle the bodies of the dead in different ways I didn't even want to think of. There was one room with a more elaborate sarcophagus with partially butchered cattle on the sides. It was empty, but whatever family was buried there had been rich. The walls were covered with slots for the bodies of the family. Some still had stone slabs covering them but most was open and empty. There was a column where all slabs was still in place. I was suspicious and soon found it to be another hidden door, hiding a small tunnel. I went in followed by Nathaniel. It turned and the stench increased again. It ended in a room with three tables. On the one furthest away there lay a body and a creature was cutting in it, studying it. I recognized it as a lich from Foxglove Manor and retreated behind Nathaniel. Velicia sneaked up to the room and looked in. She told us it wasn't a lich but a powerful ghoul. I knew I recognized it from my family, but it was more like my brother, not my grandfather... We all sneaked up and readied us for attack.

We all attack.

First I crit ghoul. Velicia hit it though and telpade it to between me and Nathaniel. My second attack missed as most of the others. It had good defenses. I sneaked away and hid behind the table with the body. Ghoul shadowtelpade to a better position than being surrounded. Reappearing it brought terrible darkness with it that affected Nathaniel.

I noted a secret door.

I feinting flurry to be able to hit it. I sly flourish and critical opportunity. It very heavily wounded. I hid behind the table again.

The hidden door opened and what I realized was the lish emerged. It cast evil spells on Nathaniel.

Honeypot ran up to it and kicked it and returned out the tunnel. There she herd some noise from the crypt we came from.

The ghoul tried to escape through the door the lish had come from, at the end of the corridor, trying to hide around the corner I threw my dagger straight. I saw it fall out into sight dead. I started to move away from the lish when Velicia shouted we should engage it, so I did. It turned out that she didn't plan to do so at all but she ran out into the tunnel to fight with the mummies there. Nathniel who had been slowed by the lish's magic couldn't hope to catch the lish who backed away into the corridor, instead charged a mummy and burned it with his burning sword. I was left alone with the lish. So much for listening to tactical advice from Velicia. Fortunately I had combat anticipation and avoided being hit by the lish's evil magic. Honeypot used her glittering dust and made almost all mummies blinded. From where I stood I threw my dagger into one that stumbled into the room and I felled the first mummy. Inspired by that Nathaniel and the other soon followed my example. Honeypot decided to help me out and attacked the lish. She danced in front of it just outside the archway it had back into, kicking low. I ran up to Honeypot, putting a hand on her back I leapfrogged over her and the lish, who tried to swing at me with its staff but missed widely. Landing behind it I twirled around and stabbed it hard. It was so scared by my move that it cast some magic and disappeared. I was stunned at how easily I and Honeypot had scared away a lish. Nathaniel and Velicia destroyed the last of the mummies soon after.

The room where he had come from was another laboratory and this contained a stuffed baby crocodile and Velicia said that it was what we needed from gluttony.

I didn't like the idea of leaving a lish, but I definitely want to be finished with runeforge as soon as possible. I really missed freshly cooked food. I wished that I could have brought Kaven somehow. We returned to Pride.
