You create a greater flameskull and give it instructions. The greater flameskull is an intelligent servant, but its instructions cannot later be changed, so it does best with a concrete mission like guarding an area. You need the skull of an arcane character with a level equal to or greater than the greater flameskull’s level to cast this ritual; if the skull is not adequate, you learn this as soon as you begin the ritual and can abandon the effort at no cost.
