The target must voluntarily accept a mission relevant to a god he worships. This is always a specific task and can involve taking part in the war against opposing alignment, right (or inflict) some injustice or wrong, or just an expression of ego for chaotic gods. Examples include slaying specific enemies or recovering a specific treasure. As long as the target is working against this task, she gains a +2 power bonus to Will defense and gains a daily use of his patron’s divine challenge ability. This is in addition to any other divine challenge abilities he might already have.
If the target neglects the mission, she starts to lose healing surges. After each long rest and before she can spend any healing surges, she loses one healing surge per day he has not been working on the quest. These are restored on the first long rest after resuming the quest.
Casting the ritual again can end a quest. Characters who do not worship any gods cannot accept a quest.
