In this chapter the heroes continue to search through the complex and find undead giants.

Undead Giants

Returning to where the corridor split we followed the other corridor. It ended in a cave in further down, but just before that there was a corridor to the left. We followed it to an empty room. I was suspicious and searched for hidden doors but didn't find any. Velicia said she thought it was an old guard room. As it turned out to be a dead end we returned to the giants guarding the well. We approached cautiously. I hid while Velicia started talking with them. They guarded the round thing on the floor and didn't seem to be particularly smart. They didn't care when Velicia went to a door on the other side of the room and opened it. We continued according to Nathaniel's original plan to keep to the right through the rooms. It lead into a new room with the same strange perspective. I sneaked up to the entrance and saw five strange undead hill giants who didn't have any heads. Four of them walked around a cauldron filled with something that was smoking and the room was littered with disgusting flesh stuff. The fifth had heavy armor and the empty helmet hovered over where his head should have been.

I threw my dagger at the armored giant but missed. Honeywell moved into the room and threw around the giants. Velicia followed and Nathaniel charged one of the giants, but the strange magical distances made him end up out with me in the corridor. The armored monster conjured up lots of terrible knives and swords in a huge area just in front of me. I caught a glimpse of an undead giant in front of me and threw my dagger deep into its chest. The dagger disappeared almost completely when it reached the heart and ended its unnatural existence. I back out some and hid in the hallway when the armored undead monster conjured up a giant cold ice cloud in as big an area as the swords, but it covered me and Nathaniel. I felt the cold bite my mostly uncovered skin and I could barely move. A giant fell out of the cloud in front of me and Nathaniel, only to be killed by him. The area covered with magical knives came drifting out into the hallway heading for me and Nathaniel so I huddled up and dodged through it. Maneuvering between dangers I flipped in between the two remaining giants. They swung at me, but I ducked away and they only hit themselves. However, the heavily armored undead giant's swings only cut air, but made Honeypot, who danced along the edge of the cauldron jump over it's sword.

Nathaniel fought the armored giant and maneuvered it next to me and one of the other two headless giants to himself and felled it. The other responded with a disgusting wall of necrotic magic that missed me. Honey moved into a flanking position and distracted it so I could stab it. Velicia used her magic to make her sword burst out and kill the last of the others. Only the undead giant in armour remained and it conjured up another disgusting necrotic wall, this time hitting me, causing me to lose my breath and see stars. Nathaniel and Honeypot focused their efforts on it. I could barely keep standing, but with a last effort I reduced it to dust and clattering metal with a well aimed stab. Not sure if it was still dangerous I staggered into a corner and tried to focus my eyes. While the others draw a heavy sigh of relief, I slowly sank to the floor trying to shake the stars from my head. Shortly I began to see more clearly and saw how Velicia was studying the cauldron. I looked around the room and got up. I poked suspiciously at the armor and when I was sure that it didn't move anymore I started looking for money or useful things and I found some. At least it wasn't all in vain.

Velicia said she had spent most of her magical energy and she was very worn so she wanted to get some real rest and Honeypot agreed.
