Abdallah was born in Muluk, the City of Kings, as the son of a successful elven sailor. But his father never returned from one of his long voyages, and Abdallah was orphaned at the age of five. His mother tried to give him a good upbringing, but he spent much time playing with Anwar and Yezeed, two boys of much lower social standing. If his fathers old friends had not taken care of him and taught him to sail, Abdallah might have grown up to become a rogue. As it is, he learned suave and brawling on the streets, skills he has had much occasion to practice during his adventures.
He is presently the captain of the Tair-al-Naar (firebird), a ship from Gana that the heroes purchased jointly to go adventuring in the Crowded Sea.
Abdallah is a brave fighter, leaving all sorts of magic to his wives. He is a practitioner of the Path of the Healthy Tiger and the Path of the Leaping Storm.
During his early adventures in Muluk, Abdallah met his first great love, Effinidhi. After a very long courtship, they were finally married, much to the amusement of Abdallah's of friends. Abdallah is still very besotted to Effinidhi, though she keeps him on a short leash sometimes.
Later, he has have been considering taking another wife. Actually, it is Effinidhi who has done most of the planning, with Abdallah happily going along with it. They have met a desert princess named Shajar Altair, whom they rescued and sailed around the Crowded Sea on Abdallah's ship with. At first they thought they could seduce he. She saw right through their plans, but did not really mind, so now she is betrothed to Abdallah.
