The reserve corps creates a reserve force of second-line troops ready to relieve the main army or hold positions of secondary importance. Generally of middle age, these soldiers can still perform valuable service, even if they cannot take the trials main battle formations can. Vastly more professional than the various militias they replace.
Creation of a reserve corps also means the absorption and abolition of any remaining militia, regional, or feudal forces.
