Level: Variable | Component Cost: Variable |
Category: Binding | Market Price: Variable |
Time: 10 minutes | Key Skill: Religion |
Duration: Variable |
You summon an immortal or undead creature to serve you. Each type of creature is a different ritual that must be learnt separately. You cannot summon elite, solo, or leader creatures. Minions are summoned in groups of 2d3 creatures, at the same cost as a single normal creature.
The creature(s) have the statistics of a typical creature of its type, leveled up to your level using the normal mechanism for leveling up monsters. They are fanatic and will take horrible risks as long as your purposes coincide, but will not betray alignment or loyalties and might turn on you if you try to make it do so. Instructing the creature or group of minions to take a standard or move action is a minor action for you; it will take minor actions on its own and move actions to stay within 2 squares of you unless ordered otherwise. It always acts on your initiative.
The duration of the service depends on the result of the Religion check, and there is a penalty to this check equal to half the level of the creature. There is a limit on time and also a limit on the number of fights the creature will participate in; after the duration is up, the requisite number of fights have occurred, or the creature is reduced to zero hit points or below, it disappears.
Religion Check Result | Duration of Service |
9 or lower | 1 hour (1 fight) |
10-19 | 2 hours (1 fight) |
20-29 | 4 hours (2 fights) |
30-39 | 8 hours (3 fights) |
40 or higher | 24 hours (4 fights) |
The level of the ritual is equal to the level of the creature. The market price is equal to that of a magic item of the creature’s level, and the casting cost is 20% of a magic item of your level.
