Metamagician(4E)
4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons |
Metamagician is a paragon path for 4th edition Dungeons & Dragons.
- There are permutations of magic you cannot even begin to comprehend!
You study magic in all its varied forms, seeking to discover principles of magic rather than just learning spells by rote. By manipulating these principles, you gain great control of your magic.
Path Feat

Paragon Path
Metamagician Paragon Path Features
Prerequisites: Wizard.
Metamagic Action (11th level): When you use an action point to use an arcane power, you can use a Metamagic encounter power as a free action, even if you have already used it this encounter. This use does not count against the limit of uses this encounter.
Metamagic Preparation (11th level): You can spend a standard action to recover a previously-used Metamagician encounter power.
Quicken Spell (16th level): When you use an action point to use an arcane ranged or area power, you do not trigger opportunity attacks for doing so. You cannot use Quicken Spell and Metamagic Action in the same round.

Effect: Select a arcane power. It must be a power that causes damage. The next time you use this power before the end of your turn, this power automatically causes maximum damage. This only affects initial damage, not any lingering effects. If the power causes a critical hit, any extra damage from the critical is maximised as well. |
