Glyph of Warding

You trace a glowing glyph in the air, then watches as it fades, knowing it will light up like that once again when disturbed.

Effect: Depending on the glyph chosen, it has different effects.

  • Deafened (save ends)
  • Slowed (save ends)
  • Immobilized (save ends) – minimum level 7
  • Weakened (save ends) – minimum level 10
  • Restrained (save ends) – minimum level 12
  • Dazed (save ends) – minimum level 15
  • Blinded (save ends) – minimum level 17
  • Stunned (save ends) – minimum level 20
Countermeasures
.
  • Speaking the name of the glyph prevents it from triggering. This is a free action and can be attempted by anyone seeing it trigger. An arcane check DC 15 + half the level of the glyph is required to identify and remember the name of the glyph just as it triggers. If you knew the name and that it was there beforehand success is automatic.
  • An adjacent character can bypass a known glyph with a 20 Stealth check.
  • An adjacent character can disarm a known glyph with a 20 Arcana or Thievery check.
