Explosive Runes

Dipping your quill in salamander blood, you scribe runes that glow like embers, then slowly fade to form an arcane trap.

Creates an arcane trap; anyone reading the text the runes is included in cause them to explode as detailed below.

A certain part of the text suddenly glows brightly, then explodes.
Elite Warder: A certain part of a text causes an explosion when read.

* DC 20 to notice the trap
Trigger
Reading the text triggers an explosion.
Attack
Immediate reaction Close burst 1
Target: +10 vs. Reflex
Hit: Target takes 4d8 fire damage

Miss: Target takes half damage

Countermeasures
* An adjacent character can disable the trap with a DC 20 Arcana or Thievery check.
  • An adjacent character can mark the dangerous passage and hide it, rendering it temporarily inert, with a DC 15 Arcana or Thievery check.
  • A character within range 5 can trigger the trap with a DC 10 Arcana check
