Thay

The annual meeting of the Tharchions of Thay is at hand and thus Zárisse is to attend as well.

Leaving Varadíya, Fandamm and Tubby at home to deal with day-to-day running of the little Tharch, the household set out for Eltabbar.

They are greeted and shown to a place where they can stay, courtesy of Dmitra Flass. Zárisse also encounters her friend Malkor who gives her a few hints as how to act and chides her jokingly for her lack of refined graces in social events.

At first there is a large amount of mingling and similar social activities to go through, which Zárisse cares little for, leaving it up to Darya to do her networking while Zárisse prepares her speech for the coming assembly of Tharchions.

As Darya is nosing about she encounters none other than Szass Tamm and his two Death Knight body guards. The mighty necromancer asks the star-struck bounty hunter to escort her to Zárisse's lodgings. As the Zulkir has a relaxed chat with his client, Darya cautiously begins a conversation with the two undead knights regarding the nature of their state and how it is to exist as an undead. She learns some interesting things.

The Zulkir then bids them all good day and goes off to attend his own business.

The following day Zárisse attends the meeting of her fellow Tharchions and after a large amount of matters of national import has been discussed the necromantrix demands the floor and addresses the assembly. Zárisse does not beat around the bush and proceeds to point out a whole lot of inefficiencies regarding how the other Tharchions run their respective provinces and how they relate and interact. Outrage ensues with only the Tharchion of Tyraturos, the radical and hardly popular Dimon applauding Zárisse's speech.

The assembly heaps angry retorts and threats on the cool and collected necromantrix and even the threat of punishing tolls against her province fails to rattle Zárisse.

As they outraged and insulted Tharchions leave the hall on a foul mood, only Dimon stops to praise Zárisse's wisdom and foresight. At least one ally has been gained, in a host of hostiles.

As they set out to leave Zárisse is once again visited by her Zulkir who seems highly amused by his client's antics and also tells her not to worry about the tolls levied against her tharch. The Zulkirs have nipped that in the bud for reasons of their own. In return he asks to "borrow" Darya and he promises to return her "still useful" to Zárisse.

Thus ends the Annual meeting.
