Drow - Xora

Xoroastria, or Xora as she is commonly called, is the third daughter of MatronNemalzhi and a devout if unorthodox priestess.

As a child, Xora was weaned by her sister Zhaunil and helped her with her tasks as BreedingMistress. She showed quite a talent for breeding simple creatures - spiders, insects, and slimes - but lacked the patience and devotion to do more than assist in breeding more difficult creatures. She also showed an unhealthy interest in breeding herself with Zhaunil's creations. In some ways, she developed very early - in others, she remained naive and childish long beyond what is considered normal.

Soon after leaving Zhaunil's care, she herself became the WeanMother of Nirl. He, too, developed strangely. He grew up very slowly and remains child-like at heart. As an adolescent, she was also a dangerously devoted brawler, hedonist and never-do-well, and was often found drugged or beaten senseless in some cheap dive in TrenchTown or LoveTown. Paired with Zhaunil's lack of religious upbringing, Xora was starting to stray from the path of the Drow Priestess.

This could not continue. MatronNemalzhi sent her daughter to the GrandTemple to become a proper Priestess. The wider horizons appear to have made an impression, for she was diligent (if unfocused) in her studies, and got good grades in a wide variety of subjects - so many, in fact, that she created a sort of record. She also spent a lot of time on extra-cirucular activities and was something of a prom queen. Even many teachers at the academies seemed to respect her, even fear her. It was during this time that Xora took to wearing a mask.

Now, she is back in the folds of her family, several years later than expected and no more respectful of authority. She has received a rather cool welcome, but is gradually learning the ropes - though she is still missing more than she should be.

Appearance

Xora is wiry, with spindly limbs but generous curves. She is something of a Drow pin-up-model, looking almost idealized in her beauty. She likes to show this off, and always wears thin or translucent clothing (generally made by her from spider webs) or nothing at all. She prefers simple black, white, and grey, using illusory colored lights to create a sparkle of different colors. She always wears a mask, sometimes large and elaborate masks, sometimes a simple eye-cloth or veil. She always makes these masks herself, and it is uncanny to see them change to reflect her moods.

Personality

Exuberant - that is the best way to sum her up. She likes to make an impression, and she likes to be unorthodox. She is generally considered untrustworthy because her priorities remain her own. No longer the simple hedonist she was, she now seeks out more advanced experiences - like the pain of MatronNemalzhi's childbirth or the discipline of HouseXyrl.

Abilities

Xora is a Priestess, but she is not overly focused. Her abilities range from a greatly enhanced physical strength to an affinity with spiders and webs that goes way beyond that of most BreedingMistresses. She is also a party animal, and very socially adept. Her main skills as displayed at home are spider magic and her ability to organize great social events. She is also a good assistant, always ready to help with a kind word or discerning eye.

Judging by her grades, she is adept in almost every subject taught at the GrandTemple, HouseOfWar, or HouseOfMagic - though only the basic courses.
