Nova is a former associate of Britannia. Both women are Golden Age science heroes and were created during World War II in the same program. I created them because I wanted to play heroes with a classic spandex look.

Background

Victoria Sterling was the daughter of a U.S. diplomat and a New England socialite. Beautiful, intelligent and fluent in half a dozen languages, she made an ideal recruit for the O.S.S. during World War II. Victoria was was assigned the code name Nova when she spied on Nazi Germany. She was one of the first heroes in the Allied 'Prometheus' science hero program. Despite her age, she appears to be in her mid 20s and is in excellent physical conditions. This is no doubt a side effect of the Prometheus program which is still clasified MAGIC/ULTRA/OMEGA.

Nova joined the 1st Hero Brigade in frontline battle against the Axis menace during the war. She officially retired as a hero when the Might for Right Act was passed in 1956, but came out of retirement during the Rikti War. There are rumours that she has been involved in clandestine U.S. operations until the early 1990s.

Notes

I played Britannia as an Energy/Energy blaster to level 26 (snow remade as a tanker) in the EU Beta. The build is based on my experience with her as well as data in the US guides.

  • This build is meant for use against small groups of above con enemies or in teams where controller and tankers help with lockdown and aggro control. It is not a stealth/nova build.
  • Stamina is probably needed even with Conserver Power. That was certainly the case for Fury and Atomic Ape. Note: Currently (level 22) Stamina is not yet fullt slotted.
  • Take Power Push or possibly Energy Torrent as one of the 30+ powers. Extra knockback/crowd control should be nice. I was much happier with Power Burst than Energy Torrent at lower levels, and three good attacks meant I did not miss Hasten.
  • Hasten or not? I have decided to delay Hasten as long as possible and see how that works out. If would certainly be nice to manage without it! Of course, perma Hasten would mean that I will have Aim or BĂșildup available most of the time, and it will significantly reduce downtime for Nova, Total Focus and Power Boost. So far, I have some downtime in my attack cycle. I can get around this by moving in close and using Power Burst or Bonesmasher. Recharge time on Bonesmasher is a bit high, so I'll probably take hasten eventually.
  • On the other hand, not taking Hasten would mean more slots to spend on other powers, and I could perhaps squeeze in Stealth/Invisibility/Phase Shift. In either case, build is playable until the waerly 20s regardless of Hasten.
  • Consider taking Group Fly for use against Hamidon if I ever get that far.
