Velve and some ranking members of the AssassinsGuild get their hands on an AssassinsSeal. An old one. Actually older than written history of the Drow. Ahriman is approached to find out what it is and does. At first Ahriman dismisses it as a fancy trinket, nothing more but Alice sets him straight on the matter. if broken with or the calling-name on the seal is invoked the Assassin in question will know where to go and show up eventually. This would be no biggie if for the fact that the Assassin bearing this seal is a Vampire. After some talk back and forth, the seal in question is placed in the custody of the AssassinsGuild. Noone wants the Vampire loose on the premises and so it is to be hidden.
Zhaunil visits MatronMalafrena who lives in, what seems to be, a compound with virtually no inhabitants. Only the twins Liaram and Tsankao are present, except their mother. MatronMalafrena is friendly and curious and expresses some admiration for Zhaunil's work. She also shows some interest in GhulDril. Zhaunil is presented with a gift, a spider cut out from a single perfect ruby the size of an Orc's fist. On her way home a commoner from the arena (obviously in dire financial straits) sells Zhaunil an OgreWolf cub. GhulDril accompanies the man afterwards as he goes to pay his debts to a local band of ruffians. Sensing a potential contact into the gladitorial world, GhulDril asks the fellow, who goes by the name of Jaras to come work for HouseNemalzhi.
Returning home, Zhaunil is finally backed into a corner by MatronNemalzhi who has decided that Zhaunil shall study religious matters harder and is to be sent to the GrandTemple for further studies. At first Zhaunil tries to talk her way out of this but when this fails she accosts Zarathustriel in the hopes that she will be her teacher. This fails and Zarathustriel and Zhaunil have a fairly serious falling out.
GhulDril is therefor tasked by MatronNemalzhi to find a different teacher who will be strict, skilled and not shame HouseNemalzhi. After some questioning on the matter a Priestess is found. An older, rather severe lady with high demands. Zhaunil shows her defiance by demanding more of herself than the Priestess in question does and in between intense physical training and religious debate a certain amount of respect eventually manifests between the two.
Ahriman decides to make a statement (and is accused of having talked too much to Zhaunil ) and creates a complete tower made from perfectly aligned crystal and suffused with mighty magics, all withing the main Compound of HouseNemalzhi. "Let the city know we are powerful" is the message.
GhulDril notices that five of his soldiers have gotten beaten up by an unarmed woman. The woman in question is named Iz and is one of the lowest of Drow commoners in the city. She is a dung-hauler. When approaching Iz, GhulDril finds her to be an uncomplicated sort who simply states that she too wishes to be allowed to serve Lolth and if her status denies her the possibility of being a Priestess then she will walk a different path. Intrigued by this, GhulDril asks her to show how she kicked soldier ass. Iz does. GhulDril walks home, thinking he's on to something of importance here.
