Cock 'n Carry

Inspired by a shtick by the same name by David Blewer. That was in turn inspired by the name of a a schtick that would have appeared on Golden Comeback, the Dragon sourcebook, Daedalus edition.

Dramatically cock a gun or otherwise work the action with a loud 'click'. This schtick works with any gun that makes a sufficient 'click' or 'ka-chak' sound, and takes a three-shot action to do properly. If you have surprise, you'd better use this schtick just as the action is about to unfold, as it will certainly alert the opposition. Then again, moving out of cover with that distinctive 'ka-chak' sound can be a great boon to Intimidation.

You can now fire the gun once as a free action, and do so up to three shots ahead of your next shot count. Thus, you kind of "save up" shots for later use. This is great for that prepared face down or mad dash from cover. You cannot make a regular attack in the same shot that you fire a cocked gun.

You are a pro; you would never carry a gun around in the cocked position; you must specifically mention that you cock your gun each time, either in action or just before the action starts. If you have sufficient Fast Draw for a zero draw time, you can holster a cocked gun and use it in a fast-draw duel.
