Arcanowave Schticks


Artifact Graft

Based on a schtick by Ben Rasmussen.

This is the fine art of using Arcanowave technology to attach or implant a relatively mundane item onto a subject. When plugged into a AI/O port the user can exert mental control over it like it was a natural extension of his body, and will intuitively know how to use any of it's normal features. This is normally used to attach a large caliber weapon to the subject, though implanted vision enhancement, tool kits or radios aren't unheard of.

Weapons are usually mounted on swivel arms and attached to the subjects back or attached directly to the subjects arm. Implanted weapons may be fired with the guns or arcanowave device skill. Hand to hand weapons may be wielded using the martial arts or arcanowave device skill.

Like a Helix Ripper, the grafted artifact becomes effectively weightless while plugged in. You can handle weapons whose recoil would normally incapacitate you. The only restriction is that you are stuck with the full weight of the weapon when you are not plugging it. Now all we need is some rules for heavy weapons. Try the machinegun.

The effect of other devices will depend on what is implanted. Night vision enhancement lets you see in the dark, while an implanted tool kit allows you to use Arcanowave instead of the normal skill used with the kit (usually Fix-It or Intrusion). Armor gives protection. In all cases, you avoid any normal penalty associated with the gear.
