Comprised of the former state of Louisiana, French Louisiana was formed as a reaction to threats from Texas, and lack of help from the rest of Dixie (of which Louisiana was at that time a part). When the French offered help, the Louisiana Congress accepted the proposal. Texas remains the main threat, today mainly because of their self-styled "American Independence" policies.
