Background

The grandson of a younger sister of the last caliph, Shinji had a hobgoblin father and grandfather. He is a prince from the faraway lands of Wa and Kozakura, sent to Zakhara to avoid political enemies. His mother Katayama Tami al-Zahir is a minor consort of the Caliph. As yet, he is a young man of no great repute, but it is said that he has begun to chafe at the loose ways of court life in Huzuz and would like to return home.
