If you use multiple metamagic feats on the same spell you would get an effect out of the same levels twice.
Example You cast a fireball (3rd) as quicken spell (+4) and Heightened spell (to 7th = +4).
I would say that you only get those bonuses if there are actual levels that you can dedicate to Heighten spell, but it is still cast as a level 7th spell regarding save difficulty. In the original rules I can't see why you wouldn't get that full effect out of it as in the example above. This way of using it also makes Empower Spell redundant. --TexaS 21:45, 24 May 2007 (CEST)
