Timeline
Alternative history timeline for the 1930s.
- Prime minister Stanley Baldwin steps down after Edward VIII announces his intentions to keep the throne and marry Wallis Simpson. Mosley appointed prime minister. Civil war breaks out in Britain.
- Sanjurjo is leader of Nationalists in Spain. Collapse of Britain means that the Non-Intervention Committee is largely ineffective, and more materiel and volunteers reach the Republicans. France is threatened by loss of Britain as an ally, and probably sends more aid to the Republicans while denying any involvement much like Italy and Germany. Possible result is armstice after retreat to Morocco by Nationalist leaders, Foreign Legion, Army of Africa and some regular units. With the Republican army and SIM under Communist control, purge of Carlist and Falangist sympathizers is inevitable.
- Breakup of British Empire as described in A Very British Civil War.
Small arms
While there were a lot of cartridges in use in the SCW, they are more or less equal in game terms.
- Low powered handgun: 2d6-1 (.32 ACP)
- Standard handgun or SMG: 2d6 (9mm Parabellum, 7.63 Mauser, 9mm Largo)
- Powerful handgun: 2d6+1 (.357 Magnum)
- Rifle: 2d8
Virtually all handguns will fall into the "standard" category. For ease of play, AP is assumed to be 1 for pistols and 2 for rifles.
