The Special Operations Group servers as the Imperial Marine Corps special forces. The SOG is organized into a number of companies. SOG teams are typically deployed on the squad of platoon level.
Chain of Command
SOG teams are not subject to the normal chain of command. SOG companies are usually attached to a division or brigade HQ, while smaller teams are usually attached to a brigade or batallion HQ.
Insignia
Members of the SOG are entitled to wear the SOG patch on battledress or a SOG badge on other uniform. The SOG beret badge may be worn instead of the regular Marine badge.
At the moment, I have no idea what the SOG insignia looks like. Probably some variation on the Marine insignia, i.e. sword or thunderbolts.
