Generating ability scores
Method
- Roll 21d6
- Generate seven ability scores by grouping dice into groups of three
- Drop one score
- Replace any one score with 16
- Assign score to abilities
Example
The player rolls 6,6,6,6,6,5,4,4,4,3,3,3,2,2,2,2,1,1,1,1,1. These can be grouped as 6,6,6 6,6,5 4,4,4 3,3,3 2,2,2 2,2,1 1,1,1. This mean ability scores of 18, 17, 12, 9, 6, 4, 3. The 3 is obviously discarded and the 4 is replaced with 16. This results in an array of 18, 17, 16, 12, 9, 6.
If the player does not want 6 in a dump stat, the dice can of course be assigned differently.
Rerolls
Local table rules allow rerolling the entire dice pool if you do not get a certain number of sixes (3?).
