Zhe'raen is first boy and Weaponsmaster of HouseNemalzhi.
He is rather private, and rarely discusses his business with anyone in the house. Since he is firstboy, he is free to roam the city, and sometimes disappears for more than a day, leaving Lyme in charge of the soldiers.
He has an acid wit, but usually keeps his toungue in check. He rarely gets into trouble, though, since he is very good at talking his way out of it - when he cares to. He knows that he is an excellent weaponsmaster and seems to depend on that fact to keep him into MatronNemalzhi's good graces.
He can be disgustingly self-conceited at times.
Zhe'raen has a small vendetta - or maybe game of oneupmanship - with his sister Zhaunil.
Recently, he was touched by the hand of the Godess, which has not happened to a man for thousands of years. This left him with a red hourglass-shaped mark on his breast, a very uncertain position in the political hierarchy and huge amounts of confusion.
