The most skilled wizard in any given hHouse is titled HouseWizard. Usually this is one of the sons or the Patron of the House.
He (for it is a male job) is i charge of magical defences and weaponry, as well as production of magic items to sell and suchlike.
Like the Weaponsmaster, the position of HouseWizard commands some respect even from females for his is an important role and so many wizards are allowed some measure of freedom of speech and action, if only slightly more so than any other male.
