The Dragon Empire is full of Blackguards and Paladins, champions of good and evil whose duties and loyalties trancend the mundane world. These sacred or profane warriors have access to a limited selection of spells - but rarely become very adept with them.
Limitations
Faith: A champion must be extremely devoted to his ethos, more so than a normal cleric. Champions usually have patrons from the DS:UnificationChurch, but always seem to serve their moral alignment over their lord. This is seen by the DS:DualistHeresy as yet more proof that there is really but a single good and a single evil force in the universe, and this jas convinced many ImperialChampions to shift their allegiance to that faith.
Manifestation: Champions can only use sorcery to directly further the cause of their crusade, and only in support of their physical abilities. A champion that becomes too devoted to his sorcerous powers, that starts to use them in preference of mundane might, will find that his faith fails him.
Extra Schtick
Because they have so extremely few schticks, champions get the Divination schtick for free. Their main effect is Detect Evil - which they seem to be constantly using.
Blackguard Schticks
Darkness, Divination (free), Death, Enhancement, Summoning.
Paladin Schticks
Divination (free), Enhancement, Healing, Light, Summoning.
