Class Abilities

Favored Weapon

At 1st level, a favored weapon ranger selects a specific weapon. This is a specific type of weapon, such as longsword or composite longbow. He gains a +1 bonus on attack, damage, and on CMB and CMD when using that weapon. He also gains a +1 bonus on Bluff checks to feint using that weapon, on Slight of Hand checks to hide it, and on Appraise and Spellcraft checks to evaluate and identify weapons of this type.

At 5th level and every five levels thereafter (10th, 15th, and 20th level), the favored weapon ranger ranger may select an additional favored weapon. At 5th level the favored weapon ranger must decide to focus on certain weapons or to practice all favored weapons equally. If practicing all weapons equally, the bonus to each weapon increases to +2 and remains there. If focusing, the bonus with any one favored weapon (including the one just selected, if so desired) increases by +1, potentially gaining a greater bonus at higher level.

A ranger with the two-weapon combat style can select a specific combination of two weapons as his favored weapon, such as longsword and dagger.

This replaces the Favored Enemy class ability.
