Pure warpriests believe in one great divine principle, that does not concern itself with the minutiae of the world as expressed in domains. To them, focusing on domains is to the detriment of genuine divine power. Pure warpriests are common in monotheistic and philosophical religions, but can exists in most faiths. Note that religions that have pure warpriests can still have subsidiary gods or saints can have regular clergy that use domains. Thus warpriests and pure warpriests (and similar clerics) can coexist in the same faith, but may well be at odds with one another.
Class Information
This is a warpriest archetype that gives up domains and blessings for improved contact with her patron.
Hit Die: d8.
Class Features
The following class features are affected by this archetype:
Divine Gift (Su)
Once per day the pure warpriest can cast any one spell that she is capable of casting. This spell is cast without expending a prepared spell, even if the spell is not prepared. It is treated like any other spell, including casting time, duration, and other effects dependent on the warpriest's level. This spell cannot be modified by metamagic feats or other abilities. The pure warpriest must have a divine focus to use this ability.
No Domains or Blessings
The pure warpriest lacks domains and blessings.
Maximized Heal/Inflict
At 5th level, when a pure warpriest uses a cure/inflict spell, such spells are treated as if they were maximized, making the amount of damage healed or inflicted the maximum possible. There is no change is spell level or casting time. This does not stack with the Maximize Spell metamagic feat.
Pure Focus (Ex)
As 10th level, as long as she has her divine focus, a pure warpriest needs less of the trapping of the mundane world to cast spells. By using a divine focus as part of casting, she can cast any spell with a material component costing the value of that divine focus (maximum 100 gp) or less without needing that component. For example, if the pure warpriest uses a silver holy symbol worth 25 gp, she do not have to provide material components for a spell if its components are worth 25 gp or less. If the spell requires a material component that costs more than the value of the divine focus, the pure warpriest must have the material component on hand to cast the spell, as normal.
Abundant Skies
At level 15 level, a pure warpriest can expend fervor to prepare spells. By expanding a use of frevor as a swift action, the pure warpriest can restore prepared spells at the rate of one spell level per die of fervor. These spells are prepared in spell slots that have already been expended today.
Summary of Changed Class Abilities
These abilities of the original class are lost or modified in this archetype:
- Blessings
