Killing Pace

Basic Action

Move three times your Move. In a long-distance chase or march you gain +1 Move, but if you maintain this pace a number of minutes equal to your Body, you take one Hit. If this is your last hit, you take a Damage Setback.

Rage

Focus

When you take a Hit, you can focus.

Play

Trigger Action (Combo)

You can mix social and physical interactions. When you succeed on a Charm, Impress, or Melee roll against a single creature you are adjacent to, you can use this schtick to immediately make an opposed roll using another of these three skills: an opposed Charm or Impress roll or Melee roll against Dodge. If you succeed the target loses 3 shots.

Description

Anthropomorphic wolves who are proud and swift hunters .

Appearance

Wolfen are anthropomorphic wolves. They have wolf heads, fur, paws, and tails but are otherwise very human-like. They are built much like humans. Their fur has a wide range of colors, from honey-blond over brown to black; a few wolves are pure white or speckled. Ther belly fur is usually of a lighter shade of their base color. Their eyes are large and generally of a pale color; blue, yellow, amber, or gray are most common.

Role

Wolfen are proud but fit well in a group as soon as a pecking order is established. They can have a hard time with anarchic groups and loathe a lack of loyalty or excessive frivolity.

Politics

Wolfen are popular as mercenaries and wolfen tribes are considered good neigbors as long as they donöt feel themselves to be in a position of strength. When they do feel strong, they tend to quickly and efficiently conquer their neighbors, and several wolfen empires have existed.

Integration

Wolfen have a wild streak, but still work well with others. They are dutiful and make good rangers, soldiers, herdsmen, bounty-hunters and scouts. They don't fare so well in sedate jobs, but make decent laborers and porters.

Family

Wolfen are monogamous, and will only mate when they feel they are in a well-established position. When they do mate, they birth litters of puppies that grow up close together, often taken care of by dependents of their parents. It is rare for an alpha wolfen to have time for their kids.
