Present-Day Gadget Weapons

Chain Weapons

A primitive form of melee weapon argumentation, chain weapons make a lot of noise and are cumbersome to use, but inflict frightening amounts of damage. Any basic cutting weapon (sword, axe etc.) can be modified into a chain weapon.

Increase the damage value of such a weapon by +1.

Electroweapons

Fitted with small capacitors that discharge high-voltage electric shocks upon impact, these weapons are intended to slow down and distract targets. Characters with cyberware are even more severely affected (q.v.).

Anyone damaged by an electroweapon loses a shot from his current shot count.

Umbrella Shield

Trenchcoat Slick

This is an attempt at bullet proofing, one which is only partially successful. It is carried by agents who are willing to accept partial protection in preference to none at all. The device looks as one would expect an umbrella to look and indeed will function as one. It weighs more than twice as much as a normal umbrella, due to its unique construction. Six layers of special material, termed "bullet resistant", are added to a specially strengthened frame. The main shaft of the umbrella is built akin to a shock absorber for an automobile, for absorbing some of the kinetic energy of the bullet.

Provides three points of cover against ranged attacks from one direction. Large caliber weapons (those with * damage ratings) can penetrate the barrier, so reduce the protection by one per *.
