Blacksmithing Gadget Weapons

Steel introduces new materials and craftsmanship, making a wide selection of devices possible. This is historically the period from antiquity to medieval times. Most ninja gadgets fall in this category.

Acid Bomb

Jacket, New

Quite simply a fragile container containing an acid or an alkaline solution. It is most commonly thrown or used as a trap.

An acid does damage equal to the user's Fix-It, but any kind of clothing will reduce this by five. If the damage inflicted exceeds the target's Fix-It skill, some of his gear will be damaged.

Concealable Armor

Jacket

Tightly linked mail woven through with cords to silence it, it may be worn under clothing without being particularly noticeable. The mail hood may be concealed under the hood of the Ninja Suit. The armor yields one point of protection with no penalties, and can be taken twice with cumulative protection.

Double-Bladed Knife

By David Eber

Jacket

When fully opened, this knife appears roughly as a slightly curved "S" shape, with blades on both ends of the hilt (both blades fold into the hilt when not in use). It is meant primarily as a throwing weapon, and when used by an expert it will return to it's owner. It does damage 8 when thrown, Strength +3 otherwise.

Fire Pipe (Tufenk)

Unconcealable

The tufenk is a short blowpipe used to project a gout of flame onto targets up to three meters away. It can be used as a frail club. To load the tufenk, the shooter takes a sip of naphtha, alcohol or greek fire and puts it in his mouth. It takes three shots to load the weapon.

The weapon is fired by blowing the liquid through the tube and alighting it with a torch, thus creating a three-meter diameter fireball at the end of the tube. Anyone caught in the fireball is attacked, using Martial Arts to strike and a damage of 10. Make only one attack roll, applying this against the primary target and reducing it by one for each successive target in the area.

It is possible to create a fireball without the aid of the pole, but this is exceedingly dangerous. If the user fails to catch anyone in his fireball, he is himself affected.
