Animal Attributes
This is a guideline to calculating the attributes of specific animals. The base primary attributes of animals can be found using the guidelines below. A sorcerer with the Animal schtick must calculate the attributes of his totem animal(s) and his own animal form when he learns this schtick. BodyBody depends on the weight of the animal. Ignore animal type modifiers to Body, but use modifiers for secondary, Body-based attributes.
Chi, MindThese attributes have a base of 3, plus the sorcery junction modifier for their home juncture (but no more than +2). Animals of high-magic junctures are more intelligent and magically active than those of low-magic junctures. Add any attribute modifiers for the animal type. Animals are rarely aware enough to use Fortune points, but still make Fortune rolls using their full Chi or Fortune. ReflexesAnimals have base reflexes of 7, plus the attribute modifiers for it's creature type. Some creatures can have their Move modified because of size. Skills and AttacksMost animals have a natural attack that does +2 damage. Some animals possess abilities remarkable enough to be defined as skills, but most use their attributes directly. Optional Rule: Attributes of the TransformedWhen you transform into an animal using the Animal or Transformation sorcery schtick, or the Creature schtick Shapeshift, your attributes may be different from those of a typical animal of your type. For Reflex attributes, compare each of your attributes to that of the animal. Divide the difference by three (rounding normally) and add the final result to your transformed attribute. For Body attributes, halve the animal attribute, add three, and then perform the above calculation. As an alternative, add one-third of the difference between your attributes and the attributes of a typical transformed animal of the type. Balance CostSecondary: 2 Balance is normally about 20 points
Total (excluding Dragon): 626
