Description

Hobgoblins are kin to goblins, somewhat larger and sturdier, about 120 cm tall. They have squat, angular bodies and pronounced sharp features, both in the body and face. Their dark eyes are piercing, and they tend to be orange-skinned. They are fierce and ugly.

Hobgoblins are strict disciplinarians, and can do well in any well-organised society. They build and maintain strict hierarchies and are confused by a lack of social order. Though almost unknown in Zakhara, they would probably fit well in the worker and artisan classes.

Hobgoblins make their home in the distant lands of Kozakura and Wa, and seem to have religious compunctions about leaving these lands. They thus have very little impact on the world in general. In their home, they are totally dominant, filling all roles of society. They have developed fierce warrior-societies, with refined courts, art and many other trappings of civilization. Their society is obsessed with preserving face, and showing any kind of emotion is seen as a severe weakness.
