A scholar an tell that it is a name style used in Qudra. Investigating the qudrans in town leads the PCs to the house of E'mrada.

C'rano was designed as a bodyguard, who would discourage rather than kill attackers unless absolutely necessary. His Sense Sin ability reveals hostile intentions towards his ward, but not against himself. The parameters for '' against young women were set by a very doting father.

If he is damaged, he will commission a locksmith from town to come and heal him. This can be a clue to his nature.

Emabo happened to go his way while touring the city, and found C'rano one of the few people who did not flee his presence. They gambled, and C'rano lost heavily. When C'rano suddenly wound down, E'mrada used C'rano to pay his debt, and thus the clockwork man wound up working for Emabo. Emambo has taken him along to the City of Brass.
