This functions like a magical lowlight visor, allowing you to operate at night and under other low-light conditions. It does not allow you to see into deep shadows or otherwise help against contrast or to spot those who sneak.
Unlike Darkvision Spellware, it has an effectively unlimited range of sight as long as it has any light to work with.
