Sorcery / Traditions / Incarnation

Incarnation are an esoteric magic traditions that works through incarnating supernatural entities within themselves or in others. By opening up their bodies to the spirits, the incarnators gives himself supernatural abilities of all kinds.

Incarnation is a dangerous type of magic, and the sorcerer often risks coming under the sway of the forces he tries to use.

Note that incarnators are rarely actually possessed in game terms. They allow spirits to manifest through them, which gives them the ability to work sorcery and causes echoes as the spirits try to resist. But they maintain their own free will in most matters. Of course, there are always backlashes and exceptional situations.

Examples and References

Voodoo, Aztec magic.

Limitations

Echoes

Lack of control is one of the basics of Incarnation; you are pleading to use the power of supernatural creatures, and in return they get to act in the material world through you as a medium. These spirits will not only do what you want them to do, but also other things that they want to do. Sometimes they actually go out of their way to harm you.

Supernatural Creature

This is not one of the standard Limitations.

When you are working magic, you are possessed by some spirit or other. This makes you effectively into a SupernaturalCreature, that can be affected by Summoning and other similar powers. However, if the name of the creature should be discovered, you can make a deal with a different creature later on.

Common Schticks

Summonables

Almost any type of supernatural creature imaginable, as long as they relate to your current possessee.
