Rules / Wound Points

The measuere of damage in T3.

When a character suffers a successful attack, sum up the damage value of and Outcome of the attack. The defender then gets to subtract his soak attribute. Against physical attacks, this is generally Toughness or Armor, but it can vary widely. The final result is Wound points.

An unnamed character that takes any amount of Wound Points is out of the fight. If the number of Wound Points was less than their Constitution, they are generally ok, just to shaken to continue. They may be unconscious or running away - it is merely a matter of color. Beyond that, and they are dead or dying, just as if they had failed a DeathTest by the excess damage.

Impariment

Wound Points accumulate from attack to attack. When you reach 25 Wound Points, you are severely hurt, look like shit and take -1 Impairment. At 30 Wound Points, the trouble gets worse - you look like you are ready for the morgue, and only willpower keeps you going. You suffer a -2 Impairment in high-motivational situations like combat, but when the tempo slows down, so do you. Rest is generally your highest priority. Beyond 30 Wound points, you are on the brink of death and start to take DeathTests.

Structural Damage

Structures lack Constitution, Armor, and WoundPoints, they have only Toughness. An attack that whose damage exceeds the structure's Toughness reduces that Toughness by one; an attack whose damage matches twice the structure's Toughness destroys it.
