Al-Qadim is a fantasy version of the orient; populated by fantastic races of all kinds, each unique, each with it's own variant of the main culture.
The races described here correspond more or less to some of the different peoples that appear in the Arabian Nights tales. I have identified the groups from the tales with various fantasy races. One problem with this is that the peoples from the tales are also real, they exist today as vibrant human peoples and cultures. I am in no way trying to say that these real-life peoples are goblins or elves; I have taken the group from the fairy tale, and changed them even further, identifying them with popular icons of fantasy. Please don't take offense at this artistic license.
Though originally made for Al-Qadim, these fantasy races can work well in other settings as well. It should be fairly obvious if they are to be allowed in a specific setting.
