T3

Items / Melee / Light Staff

A handle about as long as your underarm can extend two force-field blades, one at each end, giving the weapon a total length equal to that of the user. This weapon is used somewehat like a Quarterstaff, but by its very nature, it is capable of cutting through almost anything.

This weapon is the product of a mature hyperspace culture that nevertheless still deals in melee weapons, and as such is rather unusual. In most campaigns, this would cost an Items schtick.

Bash

The weapon is especially suited to destroying structures, like doors, walls and such. It doues double damage against structures, but when you use this ability you cannot do anything, such as an ActiveDefense or Riposte, until your next shot comes up.

Bash supercedes, and does not combine with, any other damage-enhancing ability including Precision.

Beak

The weapon has a very narrow striking point, or is otherwise very good at penetrating armor. Add +3 points of damage against targets with four or more points of armor, and against objects.

If you use another technique or maneuver that ignores armor or that does extra damage against objects, such as Bash, this bonus is lost.

Butt Strike

After a normal attack you can expend an additional shot and make a second attack with the butt of the weapon, for Strength +2 damage. You must be holding the weapon in two hands to do this.

Butt Strike cannot be used along with any other weapon maneouvre or eves special stunt. That is if you did something funny as a part of your attack, it wasn't a normal attack and doesn't qualify for a Butt Strike.

Disarm

You can entangle other weapons, especially long and powerfully unbalanced weapons. Add the damage add of your opponent's weapon to any disarm stunts you try to make.

Draw

The weapon takes no shots to draw, and you can use it to counterattack, defend and such even when it is sheathed, provided you are not surprised.

Parry

When you do an ActiveDefense with this weapon, you get a +5 to your Dodge instead of the usual +3. This bonus only applies against Melee attacks, not against ranged combat of any kind.
