A thisn string of wire, gut or thick thread, the garotte is used to strange opponents - in extreme cases severing the head right off.
A simple pad over the neck area will provide four points of armor against a garotte only.
Clinch
Once you get under an opponent's guard, your small and handy weapon can wreak great havoc.
Getting into a clinch is a specific maneouver, and requires a successful MartialArts attack, which causes no damage.
Once you have gotten into Clinch with an opponent, you receive a +3 bonus on your MartialArts against that opponent until one of the following happens;
- You move away or attack another opponent
- You are hit and take damage from an attack
- You opponent moves away from you
If both fighters use weapons with this ability, it effectively cancels itself out.
Improvised
This weapon does not need to be made as a dedicated weapon - it can be found or scrounged from civilian gear. Such scrounged versions are less durable than the real thing, and break on any snakeyes roll. In addition, any Disarm Stunts get a +3 modifier against such a weapon.
Of course, a purposedly crafted version of the weapon does not have these drawbacks.
Precision
You can strike several times in quick succession or with great precision.
If you inflict any Wound Points with this weapon, add an additional three wound points of the same type.
Stun
An attack to unbalance and shock your target. You simultaneously do normal damage. If you manage to wound him, he loses one from his current shot unless he is immune to pain.
