A chain blade is a slashing melee weapon where the striking surface has been replaced with a chainsaw-like moving edge. This technology is somewhat crude, and jams on a snakeyes roll. A chain weapon is powered by a minicell which is good for an hour of continous operation. The weapon also weights twice as much as a regular weapon of this type. All of these limitations disappear at the Fusion tech level, but by then Chain Weapons are largely passé, having been replaced by Keen Edge.
Any slashing weapon of Blacksmith sophistication or less can be made into a Chain Blade weapon, unless otherwise noted. The Chain Weapon modification is incompatible with other weapon modifications, such as Keen Edge.
Precision
You can strike several times in quick succession or with great precision.
If you inflict any Wound Points with this weapon, add an additional three wound points of the same type.
