Armor piercing ammunition is first used on ships; it later moves on to anti-tank cannon and other weapons in use against hard targets.
It is hard to make armor piercing ammunition in small calibers. At the Combustion level, only cannon shells can be armor-piercing, at Nuclear support weapons can be armor-piercing, at Fusion weapons with a base damage value of 12 or higher can use it, and at later tech levels, all projectile weapons can use such ammunition.
Effect
Armor piercing ammunition does double damage against vehicles and objects - including double outcome. Calculate the damage as normal, then double the result before comparing it to the target's Toughness.
