Force armor is made entirely from soul energy, powered by magic or psi. It is normally focused in a small item, such as a cloak, light robe robe, talisman, or ring, and wearing this item activates the protection. It can be bought several times, and the protective value stacks with itself up to a maximum of ten points. It is horrendously expensive.
The armor itself consists of an invisible force-field surrounding the user, that turns visible when it deflects an attack. Some force armor have this effect on constantly, this is the "obvious" drawback. When visible, it can look like anything; glimmering light or darkest black are the most common versions, with scintilating colors a close third.
Force Armor can have drawbacks that increase its protective value cost. Each of the following factors add +2 to the protective value of the Force Armor;
- Force Armor costs a Magic point to create and lasts for a scene
- Force Armor can only be activated once per session (or after a complex recharge) and lasts for a scene
- Force Armor does not protect against one of the following: Guns and thrown weapons, melee attacks or Blast
- Force Armor gives a -1 Reflex penalty
- Force Armor is immobile, if you move, you leave it behind
- Force Armor only protects your front (or back, as appropriate)
- Force Armor is tangible, and must be taken on and off like a suit of normal armor. Concealability: Jacket.
- Force Armor is obvious when worn. Concealability: Unconcealable.
