Attributes / Body

Body is a primary attribute, the goverining attribute for Constitution, Strength, and Toughness.

Body relates to physical mass. A more massive person, object or creature has greater Body. But some 75 kg people are tougher than others, and a 5 kg rock is not as tough as 5 kg of steel plating, so values will have to be adjusted accordingly.

Body for Living Creatures

Animals are generally at their peak. Most humans are well below peak performance, so a Body two points lower than that indicated for weight is reasonable, more for overweight persons. The length values are in meters, very approximate, and for four-legged animals, from snout to the base of the tail. A human-shaped beast is about twice as long.

Body for Objects

Objects are often incredibly tough, seemingly invulnerable. But remember, objects have a Dodge of zero.

Benchmarks for the Toughness added because an object is made of strong materials is found on this table:

Wood +2
Composites & laminates +4
Stone +4
Steel +6
Hardened Steel +8
Composite Steel +10
Thin outer layer (non-armored vehicles have this) -5

Body-Mass Table

Body Mass Typical Length Example Example Object
O 2.5 0.3 Cat -
1 4 0.3 - -
2 6 0.4 Small dog -
3 10 0.5 Fox -
4 15 0.5 Large dog -
5 25 0.6 Coyote -
6 40 0.7 Wolf Interior door
7 60 0.8 Trained woman -
8 100 1.0 Trained man -
9 150 1.1 - Motorcycle
10 250 1.3 - -
11 400 1.5 - -
12 600 1.7 Brown bear Compact Car
13 1000 2.0 Horse, tiger -
14 1500 2.2 Grizly bear -
15 2500 2.5 - Large Car

For very large objects, take the weight in tons instead of kg, add +15 Body, and multiply length by 10.

Length is for a quadroupled; a creature walking upright (such as a human) is generally twice as tall as this.
