Halvor van Amerongen was born in Marienburg as the second son to a welthy merchant. Quite early in his adolesence he became aware of the fact that as he is the second son he will not inherit the family business, and that his business education will only serve as a safeguard for his family if his older brother Matijes would be unable to fulfill his duties. These kinds of revelations may be devestating for a young forward teenager.
Halvor more or less gave up his business education (not that he really neded it since he already knew all there is to know on the subject) and instead pursued his real talent: fencing. His innate magical abilities helped him a lot with the fencing and soon he was recogniced by the Collagues of Magic and got a rudimentary magic education (not that he needed it as he already knew all there is to know about magic), but the Collages never really understood his passion for fencing.
During the following years Halvor grew more and more fed up with his family who gave all the attention to his older brother. At the age of 24 the Collegues gave him a mission to investigate what had happened at Mordheim. Halvor, determined to never ever again be dependent of others, made a desicion: he would travel the Old World until his brother took over the business, then come back to Marienburg and by force take it away from him.
Halvor will one day show the world how a business should be run.
