Echtaar lack racial schticks, but get the Law sorcery schtick for free.
Echtaar are Planetouched associated with the lawful planes, particularly Mechanus. Tough not actually mechanical themselves, echtaars have a very close affinity to technology, and love perfect technological devices. Unlike gnomes, they are not so much tinkerers as perfectionists - they seek perfection of function rather than innovation in design.
Personality: Echtaars are stoic and reliable. They love schedules and routine. Almost incorruptible, they strongly resent any attempt to change or alter the set course of their lives.
Physical Description: Echtaars appear as somewhat emaciated humans, with hollow cheeks and few distinguishing characteristics. They have sparse hair and a gray cast to their features. They favor lab coats, severe uniforms, and formalwear.
Relations: Echtaars do not so much get along with others as they ignore them, considering people mere distractions. This makes them popular among dwarfs and soulmechs, but puts almost all other creatures of the galaxy on edge.
Alignment: Echtaars are often lawful, but some suffer a mental breakdown and suddenly change their outlook and alignment drastically. This often fails to impress the surroundings, as the echtaar lacks the ability to make a strong impression, which can drive these individuals deeper into incoherent madness.
Echtaar Lands: Echtaars can come to dominate areas of extreme law, isolated places where the forces of law are strong enough to actually change people and their offspring. Scientific bases, administrative compounds, and industrial outposts where tedium sets in are most vulnerable. Such places run perfectly, but fail to develop and change, so they may become unable to compete.
Religion: Echtaars are generally not religious, but sometimes revere DS:TheSmith or DS:TheJudge.
Language: Echtaars speak common and digital, the language of machines and computers. There is no universal language of lawful outsiders.
Names: Echtaars follow the naming conventions of whatever culture is near, but might refer to themselves by function, rank or number instead of name.
Adventurers: Echtaar adventurers are rare, as the disorderly life of an adventurer suits them poorly. But sometimes some task of discovery or the need to catalogue something becomes overpowering, and they depart for places unknown. Those echtaars that become unstable often become adventurers, seeking a place and some balance in a world they perceive as mad.
