Unofficial rules compendium

A wheelchair detective suffers some disability or curse that limits his ability to explore the world. A strong urge to understand with the world they cannot fully interact with makes him an investigator. Only some wheelchair detectives are actually confined to wheelchairs, but some who do have become famous and the title has stuck to all of them. That many wheelchair detectives resign themselves to less physical roles, solving mysteries from the comfort of their chair instead of taking physical risks contributes to the title's popularity.
